CISA Conducts First AI Cyber Incident Response Exercise

The US cybersecurity agency CISA, through the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC), conducted its first tabletop exercise with the private sector to simulate and respond to AI cybersecurity incidents. Held at Microsoft’s Reston, Virginia facility, the four-hour session involved over 50 AI experts from government and industry, focusing on threats to AI system confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The exercise aimed to enhance information sharing, public-private collaboration, and operational response plans. CISA plans to incorporate lessons learned into an AI Security Incident Collaboration Playbook and will conduct a follow-up exercise to test this framework with AI-integrated critical infrastructure entities.
