Global Microsoft Meltdown Tied to Bad Crowdstrike Update

A faulty software update from cybersecurity vendor Crowdstrike caused numerous Microsoft Windows computers worldwide to display the “Blue Screen of Death,” affecting sectors from airlines to hospitals. While a fix has been deployed, recovery is expected to take time as it requires manual application on each affected machine. Crowdstrike CEO George Kurtz confirmed it was not a security incident, and the issue has been isolated to Windows systems. The fix involves booting into Safe Mode or Windows Recovery Environment and deleting a specific file. Microsoft stated that recent Azure outages are unrelated to the Crowdstrike issue.
