Rapid7 acquires rival Noetic Cyber to help enterprises fix vulnerabilities faster

Rapid7 Inc. has acquired Noetic Cyber Inc., a Boston-based cybersecurity startup, to enhance its capabilities in detecting and prioritizing vulnerabilities within enterprise networks. This acquisition aligns with Rapid7’s offerings, including InsightAppSec, InsightConnect, and InsightVM, which focus on identifying and mitigating cyber risks. Noetic Cyber’s platform automatically maps network devices, scans for vulnerabilities, and allows automation of cybersecurity tasks, improving response times and security measures. Despite Rapid7’s recent pressure from activist investor Jana Partners to explore a sale, the company anticipates integrating Noetic’s technology by the end of its current fiscal quarter, with no significant impact on its projected annual recurring revenue of $850 million to $860 million for 2024.
