Baidu announced it will open-source its next-gen Ernie AI model from June 30, marking a strategic shift amid rising competition from DeepSeek and ByteDance. The company will also make Ernie Bot free from April 1 to boost adoption, with plans to launch Ernie 5 in late 2025.
