Microsoft confirms issues in Windows 10 KB5045594, KB5044273 (mandatory update)

Microsoft has acknowledged several issues with the Windows 10 updates KB5044273 and KB5045594, which were released in October 2024. Users have reported problems including app crashes, particularly with non-admin apps like Teams and Narrator, as well as issues with apps failing to launch or auto-start after installation. Some users also encountered problems with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including black screens during login and logoff, and crashes in the Start menu. These issues, especially affecting enterprise customers and apps that use non-admin rights, have led Microsoft to promise an emergency fix. A more comprehensive patch is expected in the November 2024 Patch Tuesday release.
