Richmond University Medical Center in New York has confirmed that a ransomware attack, which began in May 2023, has resulted in a data breach affecting 670,000 individuals. After an investigation, it was determined that the attack led to unauthorized access to sensitive personal and health information, including Social Security numbers, driver’s license details, financial information, and medical records. The hospital is offering free credit monitoring for affected individuals. However, it is unclear whether a ransom was paid, as no ransomware group has taken responsibility for the attack.
